For the complete written breakdown, read on.

Soviet Union: Overwhelm with Numbers and Synergy

For the Soviets, Early War is about overwhelming the enemy - with both raw numbers and  synergy-driven pressure. The waves of troops, fighting as a whole strategy defined the Soviet approach in early WW2.

132nd OMSK

Arriving on the field with Ambush and Blitz. This synergy driven infantry scales on deployment with your multi-keyword units (even itself), rewarding you for a force focused on combat keywords and turning that coordination into might and resilience.

55th RIFLES

A potent unit defining “at any price”, this infantry trades bodies for resources. When it’s destroyed, you start your next turn with three extra kredits, letting you keep up that relentless pressure.

TUPOLEV TB-3

Brings an early-war air formation to the board by deploying I-16 ISHAK fighters on both sides to escort this potent bomber - instant presence and pressure that demands an answer.

THE PEOPLE’S ARMY

Soviet scale at its purest: this Elite order fills your hand and support line with the (in)famous LIGHT INFANTRY, all of them with Blitz. A surge of bodies, speed, and an instant advantage in quantity, if not quality, this is the beating heart of the Red Army - not one step back, Comrades!

Soviet Union in Early War: bring the might of the people's army to the field, flood the board with numbers and synergistic units, then let the endless pressure overwhelm your foes.

Japan: Victory at Any Cost

For Japan, the plan is victory - at any cost. The new tools of Early War reward relentless attacks and destruction-driven momentum, pushing you to take calculated risks, time your strikes, and accept the consequences.

ŌITA REGIMENT

While this little blitz infantry may seem a small threat at first, ignoring it could cost your foes dearly. This unit grows in strength up whenever destruction effects trigger, becoming a hard to answer threat over time.

KAWASAKI Ki-10

Flying in behind your waves of frontline aggression, this early game fighter gains attack for the turn after a Japanese unit attacks - each relentless strike making the next aerial attack all the more dangerous.

73rd INFANTRY REGIMENT

An impactful mid-game unit: this solid infantry re-triggers the destruction effects from your previous turn’s casualties, letting you squeeze value out of sacrifice and keep the offensive rolling.

SWIFT VICTORY

A keystone of the high-risk, high-reward strategy of Japan in the early war: you deal 3 damage to your optimum target now, but units in the enemy deck get +3 attack. Make it count and seize the moment, and this could be victory in one move - mistime it, and you may arm your enemy for what comes next.

Japan in Early War: embraces the fighting spirit of the imperial Japanese army in early WW2. Strike without hesitation, turn destruction into advantage, and risk it all for a decisive breakthrough.

Two Paths to Decisive Victory

Both nations are relentless in their own way. The Soviets flood the lines with both numbers and synergy; Japan presses for victory through aggression, destruction triggers, and calculated risk.
